Loki Memoirs 46

Loneliness, I had realized over the next few days that creating an anti-hex from scratch was much more difficult than I had expected.  Another few weeks had passed and I had just about perfected the spell, it was not easy and would take great concentration when I used it upon Thor but I truly believed it would release him from his imprisonment.   I had finally written the entire spell down and stood stretching my back.  Yet another day come and gone.  I looked to Thor and walked over to him, he had not changed in the many moons that he had been frozen in time. "I will release you, I promise you this.  I stepped near his person and kissed his lips softly.  There was no return kiss, but I knew he would if he could.  "We will be together soon, my love."  With this I decided to retire for the evening and removed my working leathers, pulling on my evening robes.  I had practically lived in Thor's chambers since he came home.  Though, I believe I would not be able to sleep well if I was not near him.  Such is the emotions of one who cares for his lover so. I lay down in his bed once more, the last image to my eyes that evening was him in front of me.  I smiled sadly and let my mind relax into sleep, curling up in a ball upon his bed.  I felt empty without him, 'Thor...I miss you...' ~~~ Morning, I opened my eyes warily, seeing Thor's form still in the place he had been standing the evening before.  His bed was so warm, I shifted below the sheets enjoying the warmth.  The days had grown cold now that the Yul season was upon us.  The first snow fall happened just three days ago.  Eventually, I had grown tired of the restlessness of Thor's bed and sat up swinging my feet over the edge.   A knock at the door alerted me, "Come in."  Mother came with a tray of breakfast, she knew I worked very hard every day to bring Thor back to us.  She also knew it was nearing time where I would attempt to break the Hex.  She sat next to me on the edge of Thor's bed and laid the tray in my lap. "Will it be soon?" she stroked my hand as I gripped the tray to keep it from sliding off my lap.   "Yes...today, I believe..." I took up the fork and poked at the ham and eggs upon the plate.  She now placed her arms around me, I could tell she was happy for Thor's return.  I could also tell she was terribly worried. "Are you sure?  Do you think you are ready?" she had asked with concern.  I turned to her and looked into her eyes. "Yes, I have been practicing the anti-hex vigilantly.  It now comes to me easier than when I first started to practice it," I nodded emphasizing it was alright. "When will you cast?" she had asked now, looking up into my eyes. "An hour, I have been mentally preparing all morning while I lay in bed," she nodded. "I am glad you will be the one to cast.  I trust in your abilities my son," she now stood to let me eat my meal in peace.  I had eaten it quickly and dressed back into my leathers.  Walking back over to Thor's desk, I reread the spell to make sure it's characteristics would work.  I have checked it over many times that morning to make sure the counter balances of power were in place, it was created specifically for Thor and his condition.  It had to work.... I just had to.  I would only get once chance, it will either destroy him or cure him. In an hour's time, Father had arrived with mother at his arm.  The warriors three and Lady Sif were also to be on lookers during the ritual, to make sure everything was to go according to plan.  Dealings with dark arts were very dangerous and I knew well things could go terribly wrong in a hurry if the spell was cast incorrectly. I walked over to Lady Sif, who was staring up at Thor's still form, "Milady, I must ask a favor of you," she blinked slowly away from Thor and looked to me. "Yes, milord," she bowed her head in respect. "If I am to fail myself and Thor is restored, may I rely upon you to care for him in my stead?" she looked sternly into my eyes understanding what I had asked of her.  She had long known that Thor loved me.  Her lips parted slightly as if she was going to speak but then nodded instead.  "Thank you." I had walked back toward Thor's desk, reading carefully everything that was needed to break the hex upon him.  Reading through the anti-hex one last time, I grabbed up an urn of enchanted sands and walked back toward Thor.  I looked to mother, she nodded slowly to me reassuring me that it was okay  to proceed. I opened the top of the urn and grabbed a palm full of sand, walking slowly around Thor's location making a perfect circle around him in sand.  I placed the urn down outside of the circle so not to interfere with the spell and then walked up to Thor.  My eyes connecting with his gaze, I placed one of my hands on his right shoulder and the other upon his chest.   I drew in a deep breath of air and started... Light sprang up from the floor where the circle of sand was made, it engulfed us.  I now spoke the words I have been so desperately willing to speak to break this curse upon my lover... ~~~ Sekskantskruene på basilisk skal løftes, gjenopprette ham som han var en gang. Helbrede ham av hans fortsatt status, la ham leve. Gjenopprette ham til hans fylde, han som er Gud av Torden. Translation: (Hex of the basilisk to be lifted, restore him to which he once was. Cure him of his still state, allow him life once more. Restore him to his fullness, he who is the God of Thunder) ~~~ As I spoke, the resistance from the hex pushed upon me, weighted my shoulders.  It was dark, very dark and strong.  My breath felt as though it was taken from me as I pronounced every word.  I had finally reached my final words and I could feel Thor's body soften, his muscles flexed and his body moved slowly into a standing position. I spoke the final word and I smiled feeling relief wash over me, everything had gone perfectly.  The light from the sands faded slowly, but as I thought I had done it, a retaliation effect quickly arose.  Dark energy, black and purple in color, flashed up and hit me across my face, hard.  It was the last thing I remember seeing after Thor's restored form... It had sent me flying across the room as if I was a stone skipping across water.  I hit the wall and laid there feeling pain to my face and body.  At first I thought I had lost consciousness but then I realized something terribly wrong had happened.  It felt as though my eyes were open to my surroundings, but I saw nothing but darkness. Mother came running to my side, I could hear her panicked voice, "LOKI!  My son, Please say something!  Anything..." she grabbed hold of my hand shaking it.   "M-mother..." I was trembling.  I had exhausted myself, I could feel someone else come to me.   Grab hold of me, held me carefully. "Loki..." my lover's voice came to my ears.  He was here, he was alright... Thor was restored.   "Thor..." I called for him.  He held me closer in his embrace.  "Thor, do you hold me?" I had asked him.   A startled response came from him," I am here and I hold you, you cannot see me?" his voice was weak. "Everything is dark..." I replied.  The hex was lifted from Thor but it had back lashed against me upon it's exit.  I had been blinded... Loki
